The space
The cottage is tastefully furnished and boasts a bright and comfortable lounge/dining space with a log burner for those cosy nights in. The newly fitted kitchen is modern and bright with patio doors opening onto a large landscaped outdoor area. There is attractive outdoor seating and even a swing seat for the ultimate in garden escapes!
Inside, there are two bedrooms – the master double with a TV and ensuite shower room, and another roomy bedroom with 2 single beds, again with TV. The main bathroom has both bath and shower and of course there’s a smart TV with Netflix plus lots of DVDs for guests to enjoy.

LOCATION
The Borders region is the ideal location for a short break and truly has something for everyone!
Cornhill-on-Tweed itself has a wonderful village shop and the local hotel has a bar and excellent restaurant. Coldstream, just minutes away, has a larger supermarket, choice of takeaways, petrol station and of course the Guards Museum!
For lovers of outdoor activities, the surrounding countryside provides loads of opportunities for walking and cycling with good hill walks and mountain biking tracks in the area. The Cheviots, Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest are all lovely places to visit.
There is salmon fishing on the River Tweed and for golfers, there are excellent courses at nearby Coldstream (5 minutes away by car) and Kelso (10 minutes) plus there is an off-road driving centre near Duns.
The area is rich in history and the walled city of Berwick-upon-Tweed (only 15 minutes away) makes for a great day out. There are lots of castles to explore too including Etal Castel, Floors Castle and of course, Alnwick Castle, which is a must for any Harry Potter fans!
There are also abbeys at Melrose, Selkirk and Dryburgh and it’s fun to visit the fascinating Holy Island of Lindisfarne which you access by driving over the causeway. Just make sure that you plan well for the tide though!
If you’re keen to visit a city or to hit the shops though, it’s only 45 minutes to Edinburgh and 60 minutes to Newcastle.
